Love it...Hate it

I've never posted about this before and it seems rather silly at my age to even be complaining about this, but my hair drives me crazy.....with a capital C.  It is a major source of frustration for me at times.  Here are just some little factoids about my life experience with my hair:
  • I have naturally curly hair.  Even though I have lots of hair, it's fine and frizzes easily depending on the humidity, products I use, and how I style it.  Sometimes I have (semi-seriously) thought about shaving my head a wearing a wig.
  • When I was younger, I would ALWAYS choose a straight-hair hairstyle.  ALWAYS.  Why is it that people with straight hair want curly hair, and people with curly hair want straight hair?  I know there are people out there that would like to have curly hair, but right now I would like to have straight hair.  Here's my other issue....I have straightened my hair and it just doesn't look right on me.  I really think I was born to have curly hair.
  • I have tried several products and don't like to "mess" with my hair....but I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
  • I wanted to be a beautician, hairdresser, hair stylist, whatever they are called and I went to school for business instead.  Maybe if I went to beauty school, I would have a better grip on this little problem in my life.
  • I was born with straight hair and I don't think it started getting curly until I was around 18 months old.
So, this is just a little vent of mine.  I feel better now.  All done...until the next humid, hot, rainy day in Indiana.

I fully understand what you are saying about complaining about your hair.. I have bad hair days myself, and boy, I tell everyone who reads my blog on those yucky days too! It does get me so frustrated! I did attend Cosmetology school down in Tampa, Fla., and I got my beautician license, but never kept my license up.. Oh yes, I've regretted doing that more than one time over these past 30 some years! But anyhow, my hair is very straight. I've always had straight hair. My beautician says she loves my hair, and I say... she's got to be plum crazy! She does a real good job on my haircut and color which helps a bunch! But, why is it everytime I find a beautician that can do my hair the way I like, they end up moving so far away so that I have to go on another beautician search! It is hard to find a good one sometimes! Mine is leaving the salon where she works, at the end of this month!!

Gosh, here I am going on and on... sorry!

Anyhow, I find that it does make one feel a bunch better when they can share whatever on their blog, even if it's about their hair~ Good to know that I'm not the only one who gets frustrated with having bad hair days!

Loved reading your blog! I am one of your kind of recent followers!~

Have a great evening!

Blessings,
~Lynn

Pam, Pam, Pam. I appreciate your heartfelt post. Even though you don't like your hair, I must say, it usually looks fabulous. You have had it several lengths during our friendship, and I have loved each one. I think it is gorgeous, but I know that doesn't take away your frustration! much love.

I am glad I have naturally curly hair even though it has not always been easy to deal with in my life, I will keep it. I use Wired by Rusk on my hair and that seems to keep it tamed down quite a bit. Straight hair wasn't in the cards for you, Pam, with all four of your grandparents having natural curl plus some of your great-grandparents.
